Client Side – Senior CRO/UX Testing Executive

We are looking for a Full Time Senior CRO/UX Executive to join our expanding Head Office Performance Marketing team in York/Leeds. This role can based in either location full time or split between our Leeds(LS1) and York(YO26) offices to suit the individual. We also offer flexible start and end time to the working day and 1 day per week option to work from home.

We been trading for 50 years and is a highly profitable family owned-and-run retail business with a strong balance sheet, over 170 retail locations, and a rapidly expanding digital presence. We remain acquisitive, and employ over 1600 people. We were recently recognised by Best Companies as one of the UK’s Top 10 Retail Employers, are Carbon Neutral, have donated more than £1m to charity in the past 3 years, are currently applying for B Corp accreditation, and are imminently undertaking a significant expansion and modernisation of our Warehouse, Head Office, and Retail estates.

As the Senior CRO/UX Executive, you’ll be constantly testing across our multiple websites and marketplaces, to optimise conversion and improve the overall user experience. We want to build the CRO/UX team around this person and it’s a great chance for them to take a leadership role in creating a function that we’ve never had.

Specifically, this role is for those who are curious about technology, users, their struggles and how we can utilise our testing and personalisation technologies to enhance and inform the user experiences. Taking responsibility for proactively identifying opportunities to enhance the customer journey and validating through comprehensive test & learn approach, maximising testing toolset and external agencies, taking account of external best practice and current and future trends.

The ideal candidate should have a background as a CRO specialist, with a broad understanding of UX disciplines and strong HTML, CSS and Javascript skills, whilst being a testing platform superuser.

Main duties of our Senior CRO/UX Executive:

Trading and Delivery

  • Using a range of tools and techniques you will gauge insight using key tools such as Google Analytics and Hotjar
  • Work to identify behaviour patterns using different data solutions
  • Analyse site data and research competitors to identify both quick wins and longer term optimisation gains and develop testing plans (A/B tests) & present your findings in such a way that you tell a compelling story to stakeholders
  • Work closely with all internal teams including Product, IT and Analytics and project manage any change requests which are born out of A/B tests conducted
  • Act as a champion for data analytics, data driven decision making and CRO within the Content team & produce weekly and monthly performance reports, using Google Analytics and internal analytics tools
  • Take a lead in helping develop a culture of continuous improvement within the Content team with insight generation and presentation of weekly improvements and learnings
  • Qualitative analysis (user research, heatmaps analysis)

People

  • Develop and manage the CRO/UX team including specialist marketplaces / international and with clear commercial objectives and deliverables
  • Working across the wider Marketing team and other departments including, Customer Service, Buying, Merchandising, IT, and Operations maximising all site activity and content, segmentation and personalisation from a stock and product perspective
  • Enhance UX/CX/UI and conversion performance.
  • Working with the Marketing acquisition & retention team to identify where we can maximise online sales and profitability and optimise traffic and conversion.
  • Work with the in-house IT and Ecommerce Development Manager to identify, plan and deliver online shop enhancements.

Requirements to be our Senior CRO/UX Executive:

This role will suit an analytical thinker, with experience using AB/MVT tools, and a solid understanding of UX. You’ll be an expert in spotting areas for improvement from both detailed analytics, and your experience in UX. You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to explain test results in a simple and effective manner. The successful candidate will have previous experience in AB/MVT testing, the ability to identify trends and create hypotheses and testing plans.
