What Google Indexing Instagram means for your business visibility
From 10th July 2025, Instagram content is now indexable to appear within search engine results pages. Whilst this is good news for businesses as this offers more opportunity for visibility and discoverability, even if the business doesn’t have a website, it does mean that businesses will have to be more mindful about the organic social media content they are posting. OpenAI has added Shopify as a Shopping Search Partner to expand it’s shopping search features. OpenAI’s shopping rich results currently include a mix of results from a variety of platforms, including Amazon and Turbify (formerly Yahoo Stores). Ecommerce stores that aren’t on Shopify can apply for their products to be included in shopping rich results, but must be opted-in to OpenAI’s web crawler, AOI-SearchBot.

OpenAI to release web browser in challenge to Google Chrome
OpenAI plans to launch an AI-powered web browser that integrates chat features and AI agents capable of completing user tasks like filling forms or booking reservations. The browser could give OpenAI access to key user data that fuels Google’s advertising business. Which accounts for nearly 75 percent of its revenue. Chrome holds more than two-thirds of the global browser market, while OpenAI’s ChatGPT has 500 million weekly users and 3 million business subscribers. The browser is built on Google’s Chromium code and is part of OpenAI’s broader push to expand its services and compete more directly with Google.

TikTok launches Brand Consideration ads
TikTok has launched Brand Consideration ads to help advertisers drive product interest and sales. Brand Consideration ads use features like in-feed ads with call-to-action buttons that will take users to a landing page. Allowing them to learn more about products, services and offers without leaving the app. Advertisers can target different audiences based on where they are in the buying cycle. Brand Consideration ads piggyback on TikTok’s Market Scope insights, a feature launched about a month ago, that shares audience insights and behaviour, helping advertisers learn more about buying patterns.
