Day in the life of a Content Marketing Executive

Abby Cooper, Content Marketing Executive, tells us what her usual workday looks like.Abby Cooper Content Marketing Executive Modo25

Getting organised

I start the day by checking my emails with a healthy breakfast and a cup of tea. I go over any immediate tasks that need completing or adding to my priority list.

I’m a fan of lists. These help me to create order and make sure tasks are prioritised so my day is structured. We have a company to-do list on Monday.com. Although, I also have my own personal list that I write down in my notebook – I’m a pen and paper person.

Responsibilities of a Content Marketing Executive

As a Content Marketing Executive, I’m responsible for creating internal and external communications for both Modo25 and our new MarTech, BOSCO™. This ranges from writing blog posts, press releases, managing our social media platforms and creating landing pages for our websites.

At the start of each week, my team and I make sure the Modo25 email newsletter is sent out. This usually includes relevant and interesting content from throughout the week and any company news. We aim for at least five stories in the newsletter, so we have a lot of content to produce each week.

Spotting PR opportunities

It’s important to communicate regularly with the rest of the team. This way, we can keep on top of any client wins that we could potentially put forward for award submissions or company PR.

Keeping in touch with the team and understanding their role makes it easier to collaborate on content for our own site. We can also use this information to send to external news platforms where we can create some noise or get backlinks to our sites.

Working on our technology platform, BOSCO™

Recently, I’ve been heavily involved in marketing our new software, BOSCO™. One of my main projects has been building the new website. I have worked closely with our data and technology team to make sure the website is fully functional, tracked and integrated with our CRM platform.

Ongoing training and learning

I try to save at least an hour a week to focus on training. This is usually working towards a certification in the HubSpot Academy or watching the energetic business coach, Dan Martell. If you haven’t watched his videos, give them a go! This really helps with my personal development and expands my skillset. As well as spending this time away for training, I try to go for a walk at lunchtime, this helps me reset and remain productive in the afternoon.
