Google June 2021 Core Update Impact

Google has announced that it is rolling out its Core algorithm update. Rolling out across June and in July. Early tremors are now being seen across a few industries, but not at the levels seen in previous updates.

Google 2021 Search Central Unconference On June 21st

Google Search Central “Unconference” on 21st June. Next week sees the return of the Search Central Unconference which uses an audience-participation style conference format to encourage “[collaboration] with other site owners, SEOs, developers, digital marketers, publishers, and Google product teams, such as Search Console and Google Search, which helps us deliver more value to you and the community.”

Why L’Oréal is turning to TikTok for commerce boost

L’Oreal has been singing the praises of digital marketing on TikTok. Highlighting the ease of moving between all stages of the marketing funnel within one platform. Moving from influencers to conversion-focused marketing is relatively easy within the platform. We found the conversion end isn’t as strong as Google Shopping. The fact that brands can now go all in one platform is a great asset.

Will BrewDog and its ‘toxic culture’ crisis threatening the brand

Brewdog suffered a PR nightmare last week. A group of over 100 ex-employees signed a letter condemning the toxic culture at Brewdog. To add to this, leaked emails surfaced asking for internal signatures.

The backlash was made more severe because of the brand’s advertising campaigns. They typically poke fun at others, the establishment, and rival brands. Brewdog already has a tainted reputation within the marketing industry. They may now start to have one with the consumer.

Right-wing firm posed as a leftist group on Facebook to divide Democrats

A right-wing group has been launching left-wing ads on Facebook in order to divide the Democratic vote in America. Facebook has struggled with political advertising over the last few years and the problems seem to keep coming with many arguing that Facebook plays a role in damaging the electoral process.
