On the last Thursday of every month, the team at Modo25 get together for our Lunch and Learn and social day, to share their expert knowledge, eat yummy food and do something exciting after work. Last month was Junkyard Golf! (big shout out to our social and charity team for their organisation as usual).
This August, we did something a little different for the Lunch and Learn. We worked closely with Incspaces who manage our lovely co-working spaces to hold a charity event in a joint effort to raise money for 1moreChild, our partnered charity that supports an orphanage in Jinja, Uganda. The event was a huge success, and we successfully managed to raise over £750 for the charity.
The event was held at the IncSpaces’ Leeds office and featured a bake sale, raffle, pizzas, and a cocktail bar. Our team baked a variety of delicious treats, including cakes, cookies, and muffins – and onion bhajis!
There were lots of exciting prizes on offer, including gift cards, Nando’s vouchers, Junkyard Golf tickets and much more – shout out to the lucky winners.
The pizzas were made fresh to order and were a huge hit with everyone – as expected. To top it all off, the cocktail bar hosted by Revolution, offered a selection of drinks, including beer, wine, and cocktails.
It’s not all about the food and drink
Our very own CEO, John Readman spoke about the work that Modo25 does to support 1moreChild, including charity events, bake sales and bike rides, and shared stories about the children at the orphanage. He also thanked everyone for their support of the event.
The 1moreChild orphanage in Jinja, Uganda is something we hold very close to our hearts here at Modo25. We donate as much as we can every year to the orphanage to help with school fees, clothing, accommodation, and food amongst other things. Many of our team also make voluntary donations to the orphanage each month – and every year, two people from our team travel over to Jinja to work directly with the children.
The team at Modo25 are committed to supporting 1moreChild, and we plan to hold more charity events in the future to raise money for them. We’re super grateful to IncSpaces for working on this event with us, and everyone who supported the event and helped us to raise money for such a worthy cause.
