TLDR: Shopify’s Fall ’26 Edition gives brands new places to sell, new places to advertise and a new way of counting traffic, all landing weeks before Black Friday. For the brands we work with, that means three things. AI assistants such as Gemini are now a shop window, so product data and on-site content matter more than ever for search. Shop Campaigns is now live in the UK and worth a carefully measured test. And with conversion rates jumping on paper, peak needs judging on revenue and blended efficiency, not one platform’s numbers.
How AI checkout in Gemini and Google AI Mode changes Shopify SEO
Shoppers can now buy from Shopify stores inside Google AI Mode and the Gemini app, and with Shop Pay in other AI agents. For SEO teams, that changes the job. An AI agent doesn’t browse your category pages. It reads your product data, policies and FAQs, then repeats them to the shopper.
To be found at all, products need to be in Shopify Catalog. That’s why Catalog eligibility, product titles, attributes and category metafields are now as important as your page copy. Shopify’s new knowledge base also lets you approve the facts agents use about your business, so out-of-date returns policies or vague FAQs become a visibility problem, not just a customer service one.
What we’re doing for clients: auditing Catalog eligibility, tightening product attributes and structured data, and reviewing every policy and FAQ an agent might quote. It’s the same thinking that sits behind our AI SEO (AIO/GEO) work: make your brand the clearest, most trusted answer.
Shop Campaigns and Campaign Autopilot: what UK brands should test
Shop Campaigns has opened in more than 35 new markets, including the UK, Australia and the EU. You only pay when an ad drives a sale, which makes it an easy channel to say yes to. Campaign Autopilot now runs AI-powered campaigns on Microsoft Advertising and Snapchat from the Shopify admin, with X Ads coming soon, and the ChatGPT Ads app brings sponsored placements into chats.
More channels is good news, but every one of them reports its own results. A sale credited to Shop Campaigns may be one you would have made anyway, and automated campaigns can run alongside the ones your team already manages.
What we’re recommending: treat Shop Campaigns as a controlled test, not an automatic add. Set a fixed budget and a clear success measure before launch, keep Autopilot spend on its own line, and judge both on whether total revenue and blended efficiency moved, not on the ROAS each channel reports for itself. That’s how our paid search team approaches any new channel.
Why your Shopify conversion rate has jumped, and what to report instead
Shopify now filters bots out of sessions and joins visits into single journeys. Fewer sessions with the same orders means a higher conversion rate, even when nothing has changed in your business. Its marketing reports have also changed how they credit sales to each channel.
For agency reporting, the risk is obvious: a Black Friday conversion rate that looks like a record year, compared against a number that was counted differently. We’re annotating the change in every client’s analytics, resetting conversion rate targets and leading peak reports with revenue, orders and blended efficiency.
ASK BOSCO®’s Shopify Editions Fall ’26 breakdown covers the measurement side in full, including a six-step checklist to run before peak.
Shopify Rollouts and A/B testing: a cleaner way to run peak promotions
Rollouts let you bundle theme changes, checkout settings, catalogs and discounts into one scheduled launch that starts and ends on its own, by market, with automatic rollback. You can also A/B test store elements across headless builds, POS, Google Shopping and the Shop app, and Sidekick can now suggest store improvements it has tested on simulated shoppers.
For CRO, this is one of the most useful updates in the Edition. A promotion with an exact start and end time is far easier to measure than one switched on by hand at midnight.
What we’re recommending: set up your main Black Friday offer as a rollout, keep tests from overlapping across peak so you know which change moved the numbers, and save bigger experiments for January. Our CRO team can help plan a testing calendar that doesn’t muddy your peak data.
First-party data and tracking: two quick wins before Black Friday
Shopify can now recognise more of your customers. Shop sign-in can be added to lead capture forms built with Shopify Forms or Klaviyo, carts sync across devices, and POS can identify more in-store shoppers. WhatsApp consent can be collected at checkout, with automated abandonment messages sent from Shopify Messaging.
At the same time, apps can no longer create script tags. Any older tracking, reviews or marketing app that hasn’t moved to theme app extensions or web pixels could quietly stop sending data.
What we’re doing for clients: checking every app that fires pixels on their store, comparing Shopify orders with platform-reported conversions day by day, and agreeing which tool owns WhatsApp before it’s switched on, so customers don’t get the same reminder twice and the same recovered sale isn’t counted in two places.
How Modo25 can help your Shopify brand make the most of Fall ’26
Shopify’s latest Edition gives brands more control over where they sell, advertise and test. The opportunity is real, but so is the risk of making decisions on numbers that have quietly changed. Our team works alongside yours across SEO, paid media and CRO, with the data from ASK BOSCO® behind every recommendation. That means informed decisions about which updates to switch on now, which to test, and which can wait until January.
